Circular: Clarity on Extension Application Process

Dear Valued Stakeholder,

Further to our communication dated 19 June 2026 regarding the Final Transitional Arrangements for Selected Expired MICT SETA Qualifications, this circular serves to clarify the process for accreditation extension applications relating to the qualifications that were granted a final transitional extension in terms of Government Gazette No. 54858, published on 17 June 2026.

  1. Clarification Regarding Extension Letters

As previously communicated, the Ministerial Directive provides a final six (6) month extension for learner enrolment and achievement for eleven (11) specified MICT SETA qualifications only. MICT SETA will only issue accreditation extension letters for the eleven (11) qualifications specifically listed in Government Gazette 54858 and referenced in our communication of 19 June 2026. No extensions will be considered or granted for any qualifications not included in the Gazette provisions and the associated MICT SETA communication.

 Providers are reminded that:

  • The qualifications have not been re-registered and remain expired qualifications.
  • The extension is a final transitional arrangement and does not constitute reinstatement or re-registration of the qualifications.
  • The extension period is limited to six (6) months only.
  • No new accreditation approvals will be granted for these qualifications.
