Printing of Outstanding MICT SETA Certificates

Dear Stakeholder

This serves to provide you with an update in respect of the printing of outstanding certificates.

Due to the increase in certification fraud, the MICT SETA undertook to design a new, tamper-proof certificate. As a schedule 3 Public Entity, the MICT SETA is governed by the PFMA regulations which dictate a specific procurement process at the different costing thresholds. This process, while simplistic, yielded several non-responsive bids. We have however, as at June 2022, have been able to successfully appoint a provider.

The certificates are now in production with the first batch to be received by end July 2022. We are in the process of compiling a print schedule, backdated to the last successful certificate batch print and issuance. The print schedule will be loaded onto the website by 31 July 2022 for SDP’s to access.

All certificates for regional SDP’s, where the MICT SETA has an office, will be couriered to the regional office for collection. Certificates will be couriered for SDP’s in the regions where the MICT SETA does not have a presence. All Gauteng based SDP’s will be required to collect their certificates at the MICT SETA offices. Collection times are from Monday to Friday: 09h00 – 12h00.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the inconvenience caused during this process and commit to ensuring that it is resolved by end August 2022.

Regards,

MICT SETA
