REALIGNMENT OF HISTORICAL QUALIFICTIONS TO OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

The MICT SETA is currently re-aligning all Historical/Legacy Qualifications into Occupational Qualifications in line with the requirements of the Occupational Qualifications Sub-Framework (OSQF). These qualifications are required to be competency based. They enable learners to acquire the knowledge, skills and values required for a specific occupation.

In order to satisfy the qualification criteria, the MICT SETA must make sure that all stakeholders are part of the qualifications re-alignment/development process in an effort to close the skills gaps in the country. All the qualifications, upon successful completion of the process, will be National Qualifications and will be registered on the Qualifications Framework by SAQA.

All Community Expert Practitioners are invited to join a scoping and profiling session, hosted by the MICT SETA for the re-alignment and development for three qualifications as approved by the QCTO namely:

1. Sound Technician – Confirmed dates as per below table.
2. ICT Business Manager – To be confirmed by QCTO.
3. Advertising Specialist –  To be confirmed by QCTO.
