RESEARCH REPORTS
Research in the SETA system involves studying labour-market trends, skills shortages, training gaps, and sector-specific workforce needs in South Africa. Each SETA conducts this research often through employer surveys, specialist studies, tracer and impact assessment studies. The main aim of conducting research in SETAs is to understand which occupations are in demand, what skills employers lack, and how technology, policy or economic changes affect work. The research is used to guide funding decisions, shape learnerships and qualifications, support policy planning, and ensure that training programmes align with what the economy actually needs, ultimately improving employment outcomes and productivity.
