MICT SETA statement on the passing of Chairman of the ICT SMME Chamber, an MICT Strategic Partner

The Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) is deeply saddened by the passing of the Chairman of both the ICT SMME Chamber and South African Mobile Devices Distributors and Repairs (SAMDDRA) Mr Muzi Makhaye and wishes to express its condolences to the Makhaye family.

Mr Makhaye supported the MICT SETA on behalf of the ICT SMME Chamber advocating the development of 4IR qualifications. He played a vital role by contributing to the development of the 4IR qualifications especially the Mobile and Devices repair qualification.  

“We were fortunate to have tapped from Mr. Makhaye’s ICT industry expertise. He was a humble, respectful and outstanding leader, valued and advocated for the transformation of the ICT industry. His desire to be of service to others and champion the transformation of the ICT SMME sector leaves a lasting legacy. His passing is not only a loss to the MICT SETA, ICT SMME chamber, SAMDDRA but ICT community in general”, said Mr Simphiwe Thobela, MICT SETA Board Chairperson on behalf of the MICT SETA.
